Birdsong 101 Snippets

Sometimes, you’re just looking for a recording to compare to the bird you just heard outside your kitchen window, while walking in the forest, or visiting a nature preserve. That’s where Birdsong 101 Snippets come in.

You can get short recordings of various birds from a host of sites on the web or apps on your phone, but, we haven’t found one where you can get a spectrogram of the song that you can really study over and over, as much as you want.

You probably also won’t have much luck getting more than one type of song that a species might sing. Getting 2, 3, or even 4 variations of their song is just this side of impossible.

It’s for cases like these that we developed Birdsong 101 Snippets.

Birdsong 101 Snippets are just that – short (usually about 20-seconds) video spectrograms of birds singing.

Over the next year or so, beginning November 1, 2020, we’re going to be adding Birdsong 101 Snippets on our YouTube channel. We’ll add a new snippet each week.
